Midtown Ministry Vision

Midtown Ministry is a service oriented mission, established to collaborate with churches and community organizations as a support  in the U.S. and abroad.  The concept is derived from the Greek word for spiritual service, found in Romans 12:1 and the principles Jesus spoke about in Matthew 25:34-40.

The Founders of Midtown Ministry, Pastor E. L. Jones, Jr. and his wife, Natasha Walker Jones, are actively seeking volunteers and board members, as they move forward in the mission of service to the community and to the world.

Join us on Monday Mornings for prayer over the state of Arkansas. You can call into 351-888-7658, as we pray for the peace of our state, the government officials, and the residents of Arkansas.

Natasha Walker Jones grew up in Atlanta, Georgia. She attended BCJA, the first black private school in Atlanta. She then went on to Oakwood University in Huntsville, Alabama, Columbus State University in Columbus, Georgia, and the University of Memphis in Memphis, Tennessee and has degrees in General Studies in Biology/Communication, and a Masters in English. She is currently completing a Master’s in Public Health.

While studying at the University of Memphis, Mrs. Walker Jones was a proponent of positive lifestyle integration and community health. She started a nonprofit organization called Living Light Ministries, that promoted abstinence-based sex education. As she ministered in prisons, juvenile detention centers, alternatives schools, and churches she had the opportunity to connect with youth and young adults recording their life stories and counseling them from a spiritual, emotional, and health related perspective. In 2004, Ms. Walker Jones had the opportunity of a lifetime to travel to Lusaka, Zambia (Africa) to promote HIV awareness in schools, colleges, and churches.

Through her nonprofit, Living Light Ministries, Natasha has worked as a Consultant with the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Memphis City Schools (Tennessee) as a Health Educator. She has also served in the Episcopal Church’s afterschool programs for youth and partnered with other nonprofit organizations in communities across the southern United States. For more than 20 years she has also served as a nonprofit consultant and professional writer through her business House of David International Inc.

For two years she hosted the Talking to Tasha Show© – an Internet based radio show, discussing current topics through a spiritual lens. Currently, she is an Assistant Professor of English at the University of Maryland Global Campus and an Instructor at Georgia Military College.

When she is not working, Natasha loves spending time with family; her husband Pastor E. L. Jones Jr. who she nicknamed “Blue” while they were students at Oakwood College (now University) and her two children Keely-J., a budding artist and Shawn a smart, young fellow who makes Principal’s List his priority. Her adopted son Arnold Ng’anzwe resides in Lusaka, Zambia and is the proud owner of Zeechild Media Technologies, a partner ministry which she supports. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, listening to music, and writing creative non-fiction.  She believes she can do all things through Christ and He strengthens her every time!
